Thailand's ASEAN India+ Shoppers campaign returns for a third year with a 244 million baht target

TAT adds Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh to a shopping-led campaign that pairs registration with offers from more than 50 partners.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has announced the third edition of ASEAN India+ Shoppers in Thailand 2026, a shopping-led campaign that runs from September to November under the concept "MORE VALUE. MORE THAILAND." Parichat Boonclai, TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, presented it in Bangkok on 16 October.

More than 50 partners are involved. Named participants include King Power International, the Central and Robinson department stores, The Mall Group, One Bangkok, MBK, Siam Piwat and Asiatique The Riverfront. Visitors scan a campaign QR code or go to aseanindiashoppers.com to register, pick offers and redeem them with participating businesses. Selected privileges are worth 500 to 2,000 baht, and the campaign is also promoted at airports, in Pratunam and in major shopping districts.

This year the net is wider. Beyond the established ASEAN and Indian markets, TAT is now also targeting travellers from Pakistan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh. The 2024 and 2025 editions together generated over 81 million baht in tourism revenue. For 2026 the goals are 30,000 participating tourists, at least 10 million campaign exposures and no less than 244 million baht in tourism revenue.

The thinking behind the campaign shows up in TAT's own survey data. In the 2025 international tourist behaviour survey, 91.05% of visitors shopped during their trips, and shopping expenditure rose 21.04%. The target markets are also already busy: ASEAN and India account for more than 8.45 million arrivals in 2026 so far, out of 23.4 million international arrivals between 1 January and 30 September. TAT forecasts 33 million arrivals and 2.65 trillion baht in total tourism revenue by the end of the year.

For a visitor, the practical side is simple. The offers depend on registering and on the terms of each participating business, so it is worth reading the conditions before the trip rather than at the till. A shopping itinerary through Pratunam, MBK or Siam also usually means a few longer hops across Bangkok and beyond, which makes the question of how to get around part of the same value calculation.

That is where Balm Rentals fits. It is a marketplace for renting bikes, scooters and cars in Thailand, built around the idea that the price, the deposit and the rental conditions should be visible before the traveller pays. Listings come from verified local owners, the service is localised into the traveller's own language, and everything is available in one place on the web and in the iOS and Android apps.

Balm works alongside local rental businesses and the wider effort to make travel in Thailand easier to plan, not in place of them. A campaign built on "more value" tends to reward visitors who know what they will spend before they spend it, and clear rental terms are one more piece of that.
