Thai Airways lines up 66 routes for the 2026/27 high season, with more flights from Europe, India and Asia
The winter timetable runs from 25 October 2026 to 27 March 2027, adds Danang and Gaya, and raises frequencies to Paris, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and several Indian cities.
Thai Airways International has published its winter 2026/27 timetable, and the numbers point to a busy high season. The national carrier will operate 66 domestic and international routes between Sunday 25 October 2026 and Saturday 27 March 2027, the period that overlaps with Thailand's peak tourism months. The airline announced the programme on 2 September, and Nation Thailand reported the full route list the following day.
The network splits into 15 routes to Europe and Australia, 43 across Asia and eight domestic routes, all flown through the airline's hub at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi. THAI says it raised frequencies on selected services in response to bookings and travel demand, and that the schedule is designed to strengthen connections through Bangkok for passengers transferring between long-haul and regional flights.
Two destinations are new or returning. A twice-daily Bangkok-Danang service begins on 1 December 2026, giving central Vietnam a direct link to Bangkok with 14 flights a week. A daily seasonal flight to Gaya in India, the gateway to Bodh Gaya for Buddhist pilgrims, also returns for the winter. According to the airline, both services use a 156-seat Airbus A320.
Europe gets the most visible additions. Paris moves from daily to twice daily from 1 December. Munich rises to 10 flights a week from 16 December, and Zurich to 11 a week from 16 January 2027. Frankfurt and London keep their twice-daily service, while Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, Istanbul, Milan, Amsterdam and Brussels are served daily. In Australia, Melbourne and Sydney are twice daily and Perth is daily.
Across Asia the changes are mostly about frequency. Hong Kong goes from 28 to 35 flights a week from 1 December. Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi and Vientiane each move to three flights a day on the same date, and Penang becomes twice daily from 16 November. India stays a priority market: New Delhi has four flights a day and Mumbai two, Kolkata grows to 10 a week from 1 November, Hyderabad to 10 and Bengaluru to 11 a week from 16 November, with Chennai at 11 a week. Japan is served with three daily flights to Tokyo Narita, two to Haneda and Osaka, and Nagoya rising to 12 a week from 16 January. Singapore keeps five flights a day.
At home, Phuket keeps nine flights a day, or 63 a week, for the entire season. Chiang Mai also runs nine a day until the end of January, then seven a day from 1 February 2027. Krabi, Chiang Rai and Hat Yai have three daily flights each, Khon Kaen four, Udon Thani three and Ubon Ratchathani two.
For travellers, the practical meaning is simple. November to February is when Phuket, Krabi, Samui and Chiang Mai fill up. More seats from Europe and India mean more visitors arriving in the same weeks, and nine daily flights into Phuket and Chiang Mai mean many of them head straight for the beaches or the north on the day they land. It is worth booking flights, hotels and ground transport early, because airport counters and rental desks are at their busiest in December and January.
That is also the season when demand for scooters, motorbikes and cars on the ground peaks. Balm Rentals, a marketplace for vehicle rental in Thailand available on iOS, Android and the web, is built for exactly that moment: the traveller sees the price, the deposit and the rental conditions before paying, reads them in their own language, and chooses from licensed local rental operators listed in one place. For local rental businesses it is an extra channel that brings guests to them with expectations already set. For a visitor stepping off one of those 63 weekly THAI flights into Phuket, it takes some of the guesswork out of the first day.
The winter timetable remains subject to the usual operational adjustments, so passengers should confirm times close to departure. The direction, though, is clear: THAI is adding capacity where bookings are strongest, and Thailand is preparing for a full high season.
